London, UK – GHO Capital, the European specialist investor in healthcare, acknowledges today’s announcement from its portfolio company DNA Diagnostics Center ® (“DDC”) regarding the acquisition of the assets of IDENTIGENE®, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sorenson Genomics, LLC.
As a significant consumer brand in parentage testing, distributed at over 20,000 retail store locations throughout the United States, the acquisition of IDENTIGENE® furthers DDC’s strategy in this area and provides a natural extension to DDC’s existing product base and customer reach.
The IDENTIGENE® company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah was established in 2007 as the first in-home DNA paternity test collection kit sold through retail outlets nationwide. Today, the IDENTIGENE® brand is distributed at over 20,000 retail store locations throughout the United States, including CVS, Walmart, Rite Aid, and other major chains and pharmacies. As experts in parentage testing, the IDENTIGENE® company has an expanded service offering that includes siblingship, grand-parentage, ancestry, and more. The acquisition includes all assets of the subsidiary including laboratory equipment. The business will relocate to DDC®’s corporate headquarters and laboratory facility in Fairfield, Ohio.
