David W. Miller, PhD
David W. Miller, Ph.D., is a 25 year veteran of the biopharmaceutical industry with executive and operational roles in the development and launch of over 20 products.
From 2010 to 2017, he was Senior Vice President of Global Market Access at Biogen with responsibility for securing patient access to Biogen products worldwide. Prior to joining Biogen in 2010, he founded a consultancy delivering business and commercial strategies to biopharmaceutical clients. He previously worked at Elan, holding roles as Vice President of Pharmacoeconomics, Managing Director, Asset Executive, and Head of International Operations. Dr. Miller began his pharmaceutical industry career at GlaxoSmithKline in pharmacoeconomics and assumed increasing responsibilities in US and ex-US roles towards becoming Vice President of Global Health Outcomes.
A dual US/UK citizen, he has lived and worked in markets in North America, Europe and Asia. Dr. Miller is the author or co-author of more than 70 scientific publications. He served as a Director on the National Pharmaceutical Council Board of Directors, is a member of advisory boards at the University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Washington and Tufts University, and a board member of the Walther Foundation, a charitable organization supporting youth education. He served as a Director on the Board of Directors of Elan Pharma Ltd. and was Chair of the Board of Grants for the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education. He holds a degree in pharmacy from the University of Iowa and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland Baltimore where he studied health economics and policy.
